Advanced Capabilities to Simplify Installation, Increase WLAN Reliability
The ORiNOCO AP-4000 Access Point greatly reduces deployment costs through features such as automatic channel selection, cell-sizing control for different user densities and support for standard Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af). To further increase WLAN reliability, the AP-4000 uniquely offers assured software upgrade, ensuring a valid firmware image is in use at all times, which is especially important for updates of large networks. (OTCBB: SBWL - News) has chosen the Proxim (NASDAQ: PROX - News) Tsunami equipment line of 23GHz FCC licensed products for the entire deployment of the Las Vegas Fixed Wireless network backbone. Pan-European Agreement Extends Distributors' Wireless Offering with Proxim's Broadband Wireless and Wi-Fi Product Ranges
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Proxim Corporation (Nasdaq: PROX - News), a global leader in wireless networking equipment for Wi-Fi and broadband wireless today announced a pan-European distribution agreement with the European Comstor and Westcon divisions of Westcon Group, Inc., a global channel provider of networking technology products. Comstor will offer Proxim's award winning broadband wireless solutions, while Westcon will focus on Proxim's Wi-Fi solutions. In addition, both will offer customized service options throughout all of their European subsidiaries.
The solutions Comstor and Westcon will offer include Proxim's high-performance broadband wireless networking solutions as well as its broad range of Wi-Fi infrastructure products and client products for a wide variety of user groups and business models. These include wireless connections enabling networking between and within buildings and support for all major standards, including 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g.
